TIPO Publishes English Version of Patent Examination Guidelines, Part II, Chapter 9 & Chapter 10 - 2025.09.08

TIPO has released the English version of the “Patent Examination Guidelines, Part II: Substantive Examination for Invention Patents, Chapter 9 Post-Grant Amendment, Chapter 10 Division and Conversion.” This publication aims to enhance the international IP community’s understanding of Taiwan’s patent substantive examination practices. Chapter 9 specifies the matters that may be amended post-grant and explains how their admissibility is evaluated during substantive examination. Chapter 10 sets out the requirements for filing an application for division and conversion, as well as their respective legal effects.
